What to do if funding is closed
- Get a capacity assessment and a firm scope, so you can apply quickly when a round opens.
- Install make-ready conduit and capacity now, and add chargers when funding or demand arrives.
- Price the project without incentives. Many owners go ahead when resident demand justifies it.
Budgeting? See cost and ROI. Planning for rentals or a condo community? See apartment EV charging or condo and HOA EV charging.

Frequently asked questions
Is Communities in Charge open?
Check current status on the official Communities in Charge site. Funding opens in rounds, and this page does not track round dates.
Is SCE Charge Ready accepting applications?
Check current status on sce.com before planning around it.
Is the federal 30C tax credit available for a new project?
The IRS page for the alternative fuel vehicle refueling property credit covers property placed in service from January 1, 2023, to June 30, 2026. Charging placed in service after that date falls outside the window it lists. Ask your tax advisor about your situation.
What if every program is closed?
Get the building ready anyway: capacity assessment, design and a firm scope. When a program opens, a prepared property can apply quickly.
Check whether your property qualifies
The assessment and quote are free and carry no obligation. Tell us about the building and its parking. The assessment starts with what your electrical service can support, then checks which incentive programs are open for your address.
